As we move through February, we often find ourselves in a space of transition - winter is still present, yet the promise of spring lingers ahead. It’s the perfect time to slow down, reflect and bring more awareness to our yoga practice. One powerful way to do this is through journaling. Yoga is not just about movement; it’s about listening inward. By taking a few moments to write after practice, we create space for deeper self-awareness, allowing us to track our physical, emotional and mental shifts over time.
Why Journal After Yoga?
Journaling can help you:
✨ Recognise patterns in your body and mind
✨ Process emotions that arise during practice
✨ Set intentions for future sessions
✨ Strengthen your connection to yourself
If you’ve never journaled after yoga, don’t worry, it doesn’t have to be lengthy or complicated. A few simple sentences can be enough to bring clarity and insight.

3 Simple Journaling Prompts for February
Try using these prompts to reflect on your practice this month:
Before practice: What is my body and mind craving today?
This helps you set an intention and tune into what you truly need.
After practice: How do I feel right now? What changed?
Notice any shifts in your energy, mood or body sensations.
Self-reflection: Where can I bring more balance into my life this month?
Yoga teaches us balance - not just physically, but emotionally and mentally, too.
Making It a Habit
Keep your journal near your mat so you can note down a few thoughts straight after practice. If words don’t come easily, try drawing, listing emotions or simply noting a word that resonates with your experience. Journaling is a way to extend your practice beyond the mat, helping you bring more mindfulness and presence into daily life. This February take time to slow down, listen and honour your journey - both in movement and in stillness.
Namaste,
Christina
